Born in Lugano, grew up in Liechtenstein and based in Zurich.
Interested in performative relations, in space and time, the human body, nature and things in flux, Barbara Schneider examines and questions her environment both sculpturally and two-dimensionally, using a variety of materials, often textiles and paper. Both the historical context, the theme of memory but also the presence, the actual moment play an important role in her artistic exploration. Her work emerges in a playful space of changing materials and techniques and through using her own body.
